Today, Craig and Valerie taste Shwehintha Mango grown in Homestead. The spelling was a little different on the mango we purchased, but was difficult to read, so we went with the spelling Alex Salazar uses on his website TropicalAcresFarms.com - this is the best website we have found with information on different mango varieties. Plus - he ships mangos and budwood! We will be tasting both mangos grown at our own farm on the west coast of Florida and from other Florida farms (mainly on the east coast). Mangos taste different when grown in different conditions and when picked at different times/ripened differently. Our opinions of a particular mango are just that - opinions on one specific mango, off of a specific tree, growing in a a specific location. We are not evaluating a variety in general and by no means intend to offend anyone by our less than stellar review of what might be your favorite mango.
