Sunday night overtime with the Everett Silvertips
Clarke Schaefer and Shea Busch scored for the Everett Silvertips before Portland put up their first goal of the night. However, that did not matter for the Winterhawks as they defeated the Silvertips 3-2 in overtime on Sept. 28 at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett. Silvertips goalie Raiden LeGall stopped 27 of 30 Portland shots but the third of his three surrendered came at the 40-second mark in overtime. The Everett Silvertips are now 2-0-1 (OT) which is good for 5 points in the Western Hockey League’s US Division. At 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 the Silvertips host the Tri-City Americans at AOTWA. Tri-City’s record is 0-2.
