Mikhail Silberman and Paulina Dov are migrants from the former Soviet Union who repatriated to Israel in the late 1980s and early 1990s. They met while already Israel, started a family, and had a daughter named Rachel. On October 7th 2023, Rachel, her boyfriend, and a friend of theirs from Chicago drove over to the Supernova music festival in Kibbutz Re’im. The same day Mikhail got a text from Rachel saying that there is shooting and explosions all around her.
