Today we present to you our tribute to the late Maestro Morricone, one of the greatest composers of our era, who just passed away recently. The original song "Gabriel's Oboe" was composed for the movie "The Mission" that won Best Cinematography in the Oscars and the song was nominated for Best Original Score. It also won the Best Original Score in the Golden Globe Awards. Hope you'll enjoy and in remembrance of a great man, please watch till the end. Nella Fantasia was selected for our 2018 Singapore concerts, that we presented Maîtrise Saing-Marc - "Les Voix des Choristes", for our love of the melody and the meaning of the lyrics. Our challenge was that the original "Gabriel's Oboe" has already been widely performed, on an oboe, and we wanted to do something more unique, but still create the beautiful and emotional tunes from the oboe. Since the choir was to sing the melody, we asked the conductor/composer Nicolas Porte to rewrite the oboe part and bring in beautiful harmony to accompany the choir's voices, thus creating an unique conversation between the two.
