Jim was swimming in the sea of blood, thunderous voices around. He was terribly wounded ... again. Yet suddenly all the booming pain was gone and he fell in a whirlpool of memories which he wasn't sure were his. But this time even McCoy wasn't able to heal him, and now Spock is full of doubts. Yes, he managed to heal Jim's body, but what about his mind? What if he somehow broken him by meld? Will Jim remain the same? Spock doesn't want to loose his captain, his Jim. The person he respects and admires, who irritates him and at the same time rises something ancient from the deep inside of him, something that Spock believed would never wake up. The person he loves. And why didn't he tell this to Jim before?.. Jim feels more than healthy. Yes, he is still weak but that's nothing. What's weird is that it's like he become a part of the Enterprise. He feels her, the curves of the hull, the power in the engines, all the people filling her with life, everyone who is on the starship. It's just a little bit creepy, but mostly it's amazing. And Spock... he is changing. Jim doesn't know how, but Spock becomes more emotional, more open to him while still being his logical Vulcan self. Jim almost knows, feels this with all his senses, but he's too afraid to believe that this thing he desires so much can come to reality. But when this new ability disappears he feels lost and confused. Did he just imagined all of this?
