You see, pastels come in two different types based on their composition. If you have even a slight interest in drawing, you've probably come across dry pastels, also known as classic pastels. They have a truly dry texture and feel quite similar to regular school chalk. Then there are oil pastels. To be honest, not many people are big fans of them because it's not immediately clear how to use them. Yes, they seem to create nice, soft, and vibrant drawings without crumbling. However, blending them effectively can be a bit tricky, and that's a crucial skill when working with pastels. It's the key to achieving smooth tonal transitions, gently mixing colors, and, in general, bringing your drawings to life. And now, I'll show you how to work with oil pastels.
