Strawberry Congealed Salad SALAD 6 ounce package strawberry Jell-O  2 cups boiling water 20 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained well 2 cartons (10 oz. each) sliced strawberries, thawed 3 or 4 ripe bananas, mashed 1 cup chopped pecans, optional Dissolve Jell-O in the boiling water. Mix together the strawberries, pineapple, mashed bananas, and chopped pecans. Add this to the strawberry Jell-O and mix well. Put half of this mixture in a 9” x 13“ glass dish and refrigerate until congealed. Cover the remaining mixture and leave at room temperature. After the first half of the mixture is congealed, spread the filling over the top. FILLING 16 ounces sour cream 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla Mix together all these ingredients for the filling and spread on the first half of the congealed salad. Place back into the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to let the filling firm up.
