1961 Renault Dauphine Engine Disassembly

This video shows the disassembly of my Renault Dauphine engine...the one, according to the eBay seller, said was rebuilt. The amount of deception and neglect this poor engine went through is beyond belief. However, we shall prevail! Watching the video after I prepared it almost brought a tear to my eye. Perhaps it was the music (Chopin Funeral March!), re-living the experience of the process, or imagining the pain the engine felt if it could speak. Those of us who restore old cars develop a "connection" with our machinery as we take something which was virtually lifeless and we, like doctors, work our magic!
