This is my first time sharing some middle eastern hijaz vibes with you on my channel. For a long time it's been the scale I connected least with, but oh did that change! I figured that listening or playing it, takes me on a far journey, images appearing in my head, and there's something about it that feels familiar, just as the desert feels to me. My trip to Saudi Arabia is slowly coming to an end and I enjoyed my time here a lot. It's been filled with so much music, coming up with so many new ideas almost daily. I'm feeling so grateful that I'm able to explore the world while doing what I love most - creating. It's a dream that's becoming my reality more and more. Daerian and I met last year at the Pangonia handpan festival in Berlin, where we felt a beautiful connection immediately, musically and personally. It's been so nice to spend the last weeks together, working on many new songs, having nice jams, going on adventures in the desert and making memories along the way that will stay with us 💛 We came up with this piece during an evening jam a couple of days ago. This rhythm and haunting melody has been stuck with us since and we knew that we wanted to share it with you. Ara showed me this beautiful place with many old ruins where we decided to record this piece and a couple of more videos that I'll share with you soon!
