Nasal irrigation or nasal wash is an ancient custom in Indian culture where it is called jal neti or neti pot cleaning. Nowadays we have different mechanism of doing that because learning a neti has different mechanisms of doing that and you need a proper guidance otherwise the water may enter into the throat and you may have little bit of irritation and coughing which will obviously make not continuing the process. Basically it needs to be taught by a proper guru and you follow it. Nowadays there are different ways of delivering the same saline into your nostrils. So you can have as simple as plastic squeezable bottles which will enter into the nostril and you can squeeze a couple of times and the saline goes in. Next level you have an automated dispenser where it is battery operated and it senses saline impulses and the amount of saline that go into the nostrils can be controlled. All we need to do is fill up the machine with saline and set it up to your particular liking. It is just a normal wash and help in congested nose and thickened stuck mucus inside the nostrils overall giving you a good feeling at the end of it. So whether it is pulsatile or manually or jal neti you can do it in whatever way you like it.
