Deutsch: Überflug des Goethewegs im Harz im Juli 2020. Trauriges Gesamtbild ist ein fortschreitendes Waldsterben im gesamten Gebiet rund um den Brocken (Nationalpark Harz). Dies wird durch lange und sehr heiße Trockenzeiten angefacht und der sich weiterhin schnell ausbreitende Borkenkäfer (Scolytinae) gibt den Wäldern leider den Rest. Außerdem zu sehen im Video ist das Rangieren der Harzer Schmalspurbahn. Englisch: Flying over the popular Goetheweg on the way to the summit of the local mountain Brocken. This video shows a strong and progressing decline of the forest in the region. Decades ago this was fresh, green mixed forest. As of today, drought and heat damaged many trees and the bark beetle (Scolytidae) is accelerating the process even faster.
