Since then, along with his work in the film industry, he has been consistently raising his voice for the release of Bandi Singhs (Sikh political prisoners). Yograj Singh strongly stated that Jagtar Singh Hawara and several other Singhs should be released, emphasizing that the governments which made promises have failed to fulfill them. In response to this ongoing injustice, he announced a large gathering to be held on 21st February 2026 in Village Hawara. This call has been officially given by the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha, which has appealed to the public to participate in large numbers. During the interview, Yograj Singh also referred to a letter from a jail superintendent of Tihar Jail (Mandoli), in which it is mentioned that Hawara is no longer under their custody and that the responsibility now lies with the Punjab Government to take him back to Punjab.
