https://makecode.com/_1uw3z7Uw8RL5 The code for the Meowbit driving the bot car with Richard Knoll's game installed. Parts list : Yahboom: 1.https://category.yahboom.net/ 2.Yahboom Basic Package: Superbit plus Battery plus USB-microUSB cable included: $24 https://category.yahboom.net/collecti... (on this page you will see other items needed and "frequently bought together" and their prices it is important to note that the photos of products often show items that are not included such as , the Micro:bit, or a battery.) There is no battery charger needed, Superbit does that recharging. 3. Micro:bit from Yahboom: https://category.yahboom.net/collecti... (X2 for remote control 2X $16.80 (you can find Micro:bit cheaper but you should note the cost of shipping, does it include a USB-Micro USB cable, does it include a battery pack (with 2 AAA batteries) ? For our projects, we do not need batteries to power the Microbit (or the Meowbit for Arcade) because the Super:bit (or the Robotbit for Mewobit/Arcade) supplies the power to motors and Micro:bit. 4. Microbit basic game handle (this is the remote controller and you will plug one Micro:bit into it. The game handle also need 2 AAA batteries to power the Micro:bit. It comes with a battery box and wire which plugs into the game handle. Box can be attached to back of game handle with Velcro or double stick tape. $16.90 5. We are showing use of Mecanum wheels with our bot car. These cost about $10 for each wheel, and we also use a lot of Lego technic parts to custom build our robots and cars. This is the whole point of our engineering projects, so to get the wheels and extra parts, we bought the Omnibit smart robot car. But, if you have many Lego technics kist already then you may just need to buy the wheels, regular wheels can be used also instead of Mecanum type. We feel that we do not need a steering assembly if we use Mecanum wheels so that is one advantage for using that type at least as the rear, drive wheels. $66.90 6. For non-drive wheels, we can use plain tread instead of Mecanum which will be cheaper. But we need wheels with the Lego technic hub which is the "cross" or "X" type hub. Or else, an adapter from "X" to round or oval.____________ We have not found an adapter like that as yet by will post a link when we find it. $ 141.40 7. The battery used in the Super:bit is not AA but is called 18650 rechargable lithium. We have found these cheaper on E-bay and they do work on Super:bit and also on Robot:bit (by Kittenbot, for the Mewo:bit Arcade). The problem is that these 18650 come in different lengths so that must be considered, if it will fit the battery bay. 8. There are other large kits by Yahboom which may be useful to study coding and engineering and these kits, if they have Lego technic parts will be useful to build engineered bot cars too. Above we use Microsoft MakeCode programming environment: ------------ These prices change when we use the Meow:bit as our controller as does the programming environment. Code: MakeCode for Microbit on the Bot Car: https://makecode.microbit.org/_MfkYAJ... Code: MakeCode for Microbit on the "game handle": https://makecode.microbit.org/_P2EF27... We can use this as the core power and drive wheel center for many bots. We can also, and we will, replace the power board with Meowbit on top of Kittenbot's Robotbit. Lego technic parts: https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/tec... Yahboom.net Microbit: https://microbit.org/resellers/ Wheels come from Yahboom or other sellers but to fit the red "block motors" you need the "technic" hub which is an X or star shape.
