Zappa jams. Celebrating what would have been the 84th birthday of the legendary Frank Zappa. Guitar solo improvisation (in C Lydian and beyond) on a backing track inspired by Frank Zappa's Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar, which is from the solo section of Inca Roads as played live in 1979. The sound of my guitar is a little bit low in the mix (due to my simple way of recording with my cell phone). Hope you can enjoy my improvised tribute anyway! Note the little trick with the low E string at 2:08 min. I copied that from FZ when I saw him use it live on some solos in 1988. It gives a nice fat sound. The best way to listen to this is through speakers or headphones. The picture from FZ is from Rotterdam 1982.
