Meanwhile, the European Union is considering imposing sanctions on the South Caucasus country. “I will remain in office until the legal parliament elects my successor,“ says the current president of Georgia. Today’s election of a new president caused many Georgians to take to the streets to demonstrate their commitment to European values. Donald Trump’s team is reportedly working with the current U.S. administration and Ukrainian officials on a ceasefire in the war-torn country. According to American media reports, Trump’s national security team has not yet presented Kyiv with a concrete plan.
