Here are some of Michael Pettine's step-by-step techniques & tips used in creating & maintaining Sami Gayle 's signature Hair Cut www.miamihaircolorist.com Here are some my personal notes & suggestions to achieving the "Sami Gayle" signature hairstyle for your clients... • If you approve of the face, this chic ,very short but soft cut will expose all of the beauty within the face. • The techniques of cutting this cut start in the nape of neck with a traditional barbering technique of scissor over comb. • Knowing your clients head shape, neck and forehead dimensions will determine the length of the haircut throughout each section. Each clients haircut should be decided on individually. • The crown, sides and top are cut holding sections at 90 degrees and always cut with moderate to firm tension between the fingers, with point cutting, to create soft edges. • The facial framing must be done by slide cutting down towards the face, eyes, cheeks, and jaw bone. • Some clients may need additional slide cutting throughout as to create a flatter look. NEVER thin the client's hair, as this will create a puffiness and frizz to the outer edge of look. • Additionally, remember, the difference in length from the nape of neck to the bangs should be extreme. • Slide cut bangs long to short (V line) toward eyes, creating openings for the pupils but resting on the brow with a outside edge from temples, being the shorter , to middle of eyes being longest length. THE DO NOT'S - • Shave or buzz clients neck line, use scissors angled to the sides. • Thin clients hair • Layer in traditional straight cuts Good Luck fellow stylists and feel free to email me your results!
