He lost his entire right mandible following a hemimandiblectomy to remove his primary tumor. We gave him a guide flange prosthesis which he initially struggled to use and needed to use his hand to push the mandible to the unaffected side. In a few weeks, he was able to make his occlusion meet on the left side without the guide flange prosthesis. I've never seen a patient progress this fast, and the sole reason for this is one very very important variable.
