Vice President Election Results 2025: CP Radhakrishnan wins, NDA’s candidate set to take charge

NDA’s candidate C P Radhakrishnan has won the 2025 Vice President election, defeating Opposition nominee B Sudershan Reddy. Radhakrishnan, 67, is a two-time MP from Coimbatore during the Vajpayee era and a former BJP state president in Tamil Nadu. Known for his clean image and rich political as well as administrative experience, he has been projected by the NDA as a leader who will strengthen the functioning of the Rajya Sabha and bring prestige to the Vice President’s office. Since filing his nomination on August 20, Radhakrishnan met MPs from across parties to seek support. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had endorsed his candidature, calling him an “excellent Vice President” who would enrich the office with his wisdom and insights.
