Dementia is an umbrella term used to describe a range of incurable neurological conditions that result in the loss of the basic human ability; to think and reason. As the son of a dementia patient, Mr Das knows intimately what challenges arise for the patients themselves and everyone else taking care of them and treating them. At TEDxPICT, Mr Soubhik Das walks us through the difficulties faced by all the stakeholders in dementia caregiving and how the clever use of modern technology, including Artificial Intelligence, can provide much-needed solutions. He also poses a bigger question: how can we transform the entire healthcare industry using technology? Soubhik is the 26 year old CEO of Manastik, a startup aiming to develop a one-stop teleneurology and tele-neurorehabilitation platform catered towards the mental health ecosystem. His startup is building an application for Dementia Diagnosis and Tracking, AI-enables personalised and self-administered assistance in physiotherapy and rehabilitation, and cloud storage of Medical Records. His startup is currently incubated with SIIC IIT Kanpur & BIRAC, and won the BIRAC BIG 19 Grant in Diagnostics.
