As a new bookkeeping business myself I was overwhelmed with how many programs were used to keep the business functioning. I quickly realized that for a beginning bookkeeper I just needed the bare minimum to run my business. That only after the client list grew would I need all these fancy programs that did wonders but just weren’t necessary at the moment. I was on a hunt to find a low cost tech stack to keep my business functional but still productive. Hence the new bookkeeper tech is as follows: 1. An accounting system (QBO) 2. A work management system (Asana) 3. A system for sharing documents (Google Drive) 4. An electronic signature program (DocuSign) 5. An electronic scheduling program (Calendly) I read post after post on how veteran bookkeepers used a list of programs and how they did wonders for them but it wasn’t clear to me if these would be helpful for my business at the current moment. As a new bookkeeper then with no clients how could I afford them.
