It is a level 3 demonstration on how to bind-off in creating a icord. It is a stretchy bind-off, creating a standing-out frame to close off your project. It requires some patience to proceed, but the result is truly worth it! It pairs very well with the icord cast-on and icord edges. This video is referenced on the website www.brooknit-bonneterie.com. #Movetheneedles , one stitch at a time! We use circular needles in bamboo size 8. The yarn is a ball of 100% Merino super-wash worsted weight, in Slate color, from Brooknit Bonneterie. Hands belong to Julie Lagauzere, principal at Brooknit Bonneterie LLC. Voice and authentic French accent belong to the same person ;) Abstract and steps of the I-Cord bind-off: This demonstration is done by knitting flat on only a small sample of stitches. The principle is to create the appearance of a cord, and it is usually worked in 3 stitches (4- and 5-icord stitches might also be used, especially with thin yarn). Here are the steps to follow: Set-up (for a straight icord finish): cast-on 3 additional stitches at the beginning of your row (any method) Then follow those steps and repeat them until the end of the row. Knit 2 Slip 1 as if to knit Knit 1 Move the slipped stitch (the 3rd one) over the last one (the 4th). You have now 3 knitted stitches on your right needle. Move those stitches, onto the left needle. You now have your working yarn out from the 3rd stitch, so it will "wrap" the stitches from the back when you follow the pattern. Repeat the same steps, until the end of the row. When there are not enough stitches on you needles, you can pick up a couple of stitches from the row below, or one the side to end the full row. Voilà!
