Oudenaarde : Ontdek de rijke natuur langs de Donkvijver nabij Bevere door Catherine Boone

In het hart van de Vlaamse Ardennen bevindt zich Oudenaarde, een stad waar heel veel cultuur, geschiedenis, kunst en architectuur te ontdekken valt. Daarnaast herbergt deze plaats ook mooie natuur zoals het Bos 't Ename, de Heurnemeersen, het Liedtspark welke ik in de lente 2016 heb bezocht en de beide Scheldeoevers. In deze YouTube video maak jij kennis met de Donkvijver welke ligt aan de kruising van de weg N60 met de baan Oudenaarde naar Kerkhove nabij het dorp Bevere. Het is ontstaan in de jaren '60 van de 20ste eeuw door uitgraving waarbij de grond werd aangewend voor de aanleg van de zogeheten N60. Sinds de middeleeuwen zijn er al vijvers en meren in het gebied dat toen al Den Donk werd genoemd. De Donkvijver is niet alleen bestemd voor kajakkers, surfers, vissers en zeilers ( zwemmen is verboden ) maar ook voor fietsers, lopers en wandelaars is het open domein voor hen een waar paradijs. Men komt hier zintuigen tekort: distelvlinder, fuut, gehakkelde aurelia, groot koolwitje, heelblaadjes, kokmeeuw, kolibrievlinder, schaatsenrijder, staartmees en watermunt zijn slechts enkele flora en fauna die wij hier aantreffen. Een absolute aanrader voor iedere (natuur)liefhebber. Oudenaarde is a Belgian municipality in the Flemish province of East Flanders. From the 15th to the 18th century, but especially in the 16th century, Oudenaarde was a world-known centre of tapestry production. The town's name, meaning “old field”, still lingers on in “outnal”, an obsolete English term for a kind of brown linen thread. In the 60s they have dug an attractive pond called The Donk or Donkvijver surrounded by different trees and where many different species of flora and fauna are living. The black-headed gull, comma, Euroasian coot, great crested grebe, hummingbird hawk-moth, long-tailed tit, Pulicaria dysenterica or the common fleabane and the Vanessa cardui are common here. You can fish, kayak, sail or surf here. Swimming is prohibited. I invite you to watch my video about this area where you can enjoy cycling and walking too. Le Donk est un étang artificiel situé dans Audenarde, une ville belge au sud de Gand, sur les rives de l'Escaut. C'est un point d’eau pour de nombreux animaux et est vitale pour les espèces se reproduisant grâce à l’eau ( e.g la foulque macroule et le gerris lacustre ). La faune et la flore est d’autant plus diversifiée et nombreuse que l’étang est varié. Des libellules et des demoiselles comme l'agrion élégant, des oiseaux inclusivement les canards, le grèbe huppé, la mésange à longue queue et la mouette rieuse, des papillons y compris la belle-dame, le Moro sphinx (Macroglossum stellatarum) autrement nommé Sphinx colibri et le Polygonia c-album mieux connu sur le nom du Robert-le-Diable sont quelques animaux vivants dans ce milieu. On pourra pratiquer des sports nautiques : faire la pêche, la planche à voile, le kayak mais pas de natation à cause du danger.
