Fuyang, a prefecture-level city in Anhui province, known as Fuyin, Shunchang and Yingzhou in ancient times, is located in the Yangtze River Delta region, northwestern Anhui and the southern end of the North China Plain. As of 2020, it has 3 municipal districts, 4 counties and 1 county-level city under its administration. The total area of the city is 10,118.17 square kilometres. According to the seventh national census, as of 1 November 2020, the resident population of Fuyang was 8,200,264. Fuyang is located in the Greater Beijing-Kowloon Economic Collaboration Belt, a transitional belt for industrial transfer from the eastern region and the eastern gateway city to the Central Plains Economic Zone. Fuyang's representative culture is the Huai River culture, and is the home of Gan Luo, Guan Zhong, Bao Shu Ya, Lu Meng and Liu Futong, and where Yanshu, Ouyang Xiu and Su Shi served as officials. The West Lake of Yingzhou was historically famous with the West Lake of Hangzhou. The Baili River Scenic Area in Yingxiang County is a national AAAA scenic area, and the Fuyang Ecological Park and the Digou Ecological Tourism Scenic Area are both national AAAA scenic areas. Fuyang paper-cutting, Yingshang flower-drum lantern and Jishou painted pottery are included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and the Shang Dynasty bronze dragon and tiger zun excavated in Funan County is listed as one of China's top ten national treasures of bronzes.
