In today’s Saint Story for Kids, we learn about Saint John de Britto, a brave Jesuit priest who travelled far from home to share the love of Jesus in South India. Saint John de Britto lived from 1647–1693. Inspired by Saint Francis Xavier, he became a missionary and chose to live like the people he served — learning their language, customs, and culture. Because of his great missionary zeal, he is often called the “Portuguese Saint Francis Xavier” and the “John the Baptist of India.” Even when his faith brought danger, Saint John de Britto remained faithful to Jesus. He gave his life as a martyr, showing that love for God is stronger than fear. In this episode, children will learn: Who Saint John de Britto was What a missionary does Why respecting culture matters in sharing faith How courage and faith go together Saint John de Britto’s story gently teaches kids that loving Jesus may ask for bravery — but God always walks with those who serve Him with love. 🕊️ Feast Day: February 4 (traditionally observed) 🎨 Liturgical Colour: Red (Martyr) Perfect for families, classrooms, children’s liturgy, and young hearts learning about mission, courage, and faithfulness. #SaintStoryForKids #SaintJohnDeBritto #CatholicSaints #MissionarySaints #Martyrs #CatholicKids #LearnTheFaith
