This was the second film post Jaws to be adapted from book to movie screens. The story follows the attacks of a massive wild boar that terrorises the Australian outback, killing and devouring humans. On November 2, 1984, the picture was released. While the movie didn’t do well in the United States, it was a success in Europe, specifically France. The director, Mulcahy was a man who was at the time known for his brilliant work on music videos for massive artists such as Elton John, and his distinct video style was held in high regard.
