When was the last time you heard of a massive killing boar? There have been several movies with themes of violence but Razorback stands out for being bizarrely brutal. You can contrast the brutality with the beautiful and scenic shots of Australia’s outback and it all makes for a film you will not forget any time soon. Razorback is a 1984 Australian natural horror film. The screenplay for the film was written by Everett De Roche and the film itself was directed by Russell Mulcahy in his directorial debut, based on Peter Brennan's 1981 novel. This was the second film post Jaws to be adapted from book to movie screens. The story follows the attacks of a massive wild boar that terrorises the Australian outback, killing and devouring humans. On November 2, 1984, the picture was released. While the movie didn’t do well in the United States, it was a success in Europe, specifically France. The director, Mulcahy was a man who was at the time known for his brilliant work on music videos for massive artists such as Elton John, and his distinct video style was held in high regard. This film was his first cross-over into the world of movies and cinematically, it is a visually impactful film and one really has to watch it to see exactly what I am talking about. Let us take a look at this one-of-a-kind movie and explore the bizarre and grisly details of this film. 0:00 Intro 1:57 A new breed of terror – Razorback 8:24 Gigantic Boar Monster Razorback Explored 11:12 Why should you watch Razorback?
