AI chatbots are being used for everything from general searching to relationship advice. Can anything guide our use of this new technology? In this TEDx talk, Dr. Benjamin Djain shares the parallels he sees between Shakespeare’s characters and modern chatbots to highlight a fundamental conflict at the heart of any AI: performance is at odds with accuracy. Rather than trust the lofty promises of the proponents of this new technology, Benjamin argues that these chatbots have more in common with Renaissance performers than research assistants.
