Empire of the Rising Sun Mission 2 - Before the Hallowed Tomb / Oki Island. Played with two interesting handicaps: Restriction 1 - No actions for 10 minutes after receiving the MCV. Restriction 2 - No attacking the naval base in the top right corner of the map. This might be the most difficult mission across the Red Alert 3 + Uprising story campaign (not counting commander's challenge). The enemy is pretty aggressive in this mission and your attention is divided across multiple islands. They love sniping your refineries with Akula subs, which are honestly very difficult to deal with. Later on they also start sending dreadnoughts and grinders, which can very quickly destroy the tomb if you are not careful. An easy way to beat this mission normally is to immediately build 5-6 Naginata cruisers (probably the best counter to Akula subs), then attack-move them to the top right corner of the map to destroy the base there. This base has five refinery spots, so without this base, the enemy loses access to almost all of their resources and will rarely attack you from then on. This trick works just as well even with the 10-minute delay, because this base is not very well defended. This is the reason for the two restrictions. Restriction 1 gives the enemy player time to build up and expand across the map, making them significantly more difficult to kill and their attacks more aggressive from the start, and Restriction 2 prevents you from sniping the top right base and completely crippling their income. It also forces you to go for the objective of capturing all six observation posts (usually it is simpler to destroy all enemy production structures, since there aren't many of them). These rules make the start quite a bit more dicey. At the start (after the 10 minutes), I split up my Mecha Tengus, two at the center base and two at my bottom base. The two at the center base are to intercept dreadnoughts if the enemy decides to build them early (they didn't this time), and the two at the bottom base just in case the enemy rushes early with three subs (they didn't this time, they waited for like 6-7 subs with a few grinders before their first attack on the bottom refineries). I moved one Pacifier FAV to the bottom base because it is the only way to destroy an early wave of subs before the first Naginata spawns - the Mecha Tengus would bait the subs into surfacing, and the Pacifier would target them. Akula subs and Dreadnoughts will be the biggest threat in this mission. Subs will constantly attack your two refineries at the bottom, and dreadnoughts will threaten the defenses around the temple. After destroying the construction yard on the western base, I keep my Naginata cruisers guarding the central chokepoint, where subs and dreadnoughts will constantly stream through. I build a dock there to repair damaged cruisers and because they like using terror drones. Honestly, I really enjoy Red Alert 3.
