For this project I used the Rock Band 2 stems for a fine-tuned remaster, FL Studio for the mixing and Audacity for the mastering. Also used Vocal Remover for every extraction from the original mixes. Many thanks to @blingdaddyx for the thumbnail. Good mourning. Very grim, sad, and prog-like, this song is probably a top 3 in this album. Global changelog : Kick drum : Used Clarity FX De-verb to attenuate reverb Used Maximus to further attenuate residual reverb Used Transient Processor to give more transient to the attack Used Fast-Distortion to give more "strength" to the kicks Boosted frequencies below 90Hz and used a low-pass filter for frequencies below 8kHz Snare drum : Used Clarity FX De-verb to attenuate reverb Used Maximus to further attenuate residual reverb Boosted frequencies around 125Hz and around 760Hz to make the snare pop-out more Cymbals and Toms : Used Clarity FX De-verb to attenuate reverb Boosted frequencies around 125Hz and around 260Hz to make the snare pop-out more from the residual snare sounds from the track Guitars : Boosted frequencies above 8kHz to add more clarity to the guitars Boosted some of Chris Poland's solos I Separated the bass track into 2 tracks with filters at 185Hz for more precision when mixing. Bass 1 : Used a low-pass filter at 185Hz Used Maximus to help boosting lower frequencies Bass 2 : Used a high-pass filter at 185Hz Used the default EQ settings in Hardcore (but not the effects) Vocals : Light filter on frequencies at 13kHz to attenuate sibilance Notable changes in this track : Used the Randy Burns Mix drums stem extracted to enhance the snare (the original snare stem was horrible) Restored the "What the f**k is this ?" thanks to an extraction from the Randy Burns Mix at 2:02 Hey, if u went this far into the log you should know that I love you ❤️
