Touring the BACK TO THE FUTURE GATHERING AT TWIN PINES MALL which is one of the outdoor BTTF fan events in the world. Follow me on Instagram: Puente Hills mall: Also recognized as Twin Pines Mall in the Back To The Future franchise, was established in 1974 and is located in the City of Industry, California. In its prime, the mall boasted 155 stores and was a hub for vibrant retail and entertainment. However, with the rise of online shopping, it has encountered challenges, resulting in decreased foot traffic and store closures. Despite this, the mall remains a pop culture icon. Every year, on the date of the movie's first time travel test, Back To The Future fans gather at this historic location, celebrating its cinematic significance. The Puente Hills Mall and its surroundings, at 1:15 am, transformed into a Back to the Future gathering. Multiple DeLoreans gathered, creating a surreal atmosphere reminiscent of the iconic film. The air resonated with the tunes of the movie's soundtrack, played live by a musician. The late-night rendezvous added a touch of magic to the familiar mall setting, bringing the beloved cinematic world to life for enthusiasts and creating a memorable, time-travel-inspired experience. It's pretty surreal to see so many Back to the Future fans gathered in a small area in the middle of the night in an empty mall parking lot. Even though it is surreal, I find it amazing that there are so many fans of the franchise. This gathering is made even more special because of how many DeLorean owners come to this location to show off their cars. Some are decked out as complete time machines, whereas others are pretty much stock DeLoreans. Whether original or movie replicas, the DeLorean seems to be a timeless car with its beautiful gullwing doors, straight lines, and stainless steel exterior. Also, seeing the lifted, four-wheel-drive 1985 Toyota SR5 Xtra Cab was such a treat. Its design is really '80s but has an enormous charm that current cars seem to be missing. Looking at it up close with its huge wheels and black paint exterior makes it easy to understand why Marty McFly was all about buying this car in the movie. The detail put into one particular DeLorean at the event is astounding. It goes beyond trying to make it look like the time machine in the movie; it is a 1:1 copy of the movie DeLorean! Modifications can be found all around the car, many of them custom-made and incredibly detailed. From the flux capacitor to the time circuits, everything in that particular car is screen accurate. Another fun detail was that a couple of the actual physical props from Back to the Future were laid out inside the DeLorean. Even though this particular DeLorean is fully decked out, many of the other cars were also worth looking at simply because some of these other cars also had partial time machine modifications, presenting their own toys and props from Back to the Future. Each vehicle presented a part of the Back to the Future franchise, making them mini museums in themselves. Seeing the actual movie location in Los Angeles is fascinating. You may pass in front of a place for years and not realize it's an iconic spot. This little slope is just that, and it's amazing to see how little it has changed. This particular location also provides a nice view of the parking lot, showing the number of people at this gathering. A musician at this event played and sang many of the BTTF tunes, adding more magic to the night. We can also see the hill where Marty rolls down, another easily missed shooting location. Since the iconic moment in the film happens at 1:15 am at Twin Pines Mall on October 26th, there is a tradition where one person dressed as Marty McFly goes down the little slope, recreating the moment in the movie and punctuating the end of a wonderful gathering. #bttf #backtothefuture #twinpinesmall
