The Race to World First is now over, with Liquid taking out Gallywix less than a day after claiming World First Mug'zee, and Echo not far behind, taking longer on Mug'zee but only 48 pulls to finish the tier on Gallywix. This tier had a unique and somewhat underwhelming texture for the Race, where Gallywix ended up being the fourth-highest pull count encounter in the tier, and pre-nerf Stix Bunkjunker may well have been the hardest fight in the raid. A low pull count for an end boss isn't necessarily a bad thing - often these fights will be more approachable for the rest of the community, but when they follow after harder bosses like Mug'zee, that benefit is diminished. Sometimes we see low pull counts because the boss is fought with more gear than expected, such as the second reset of gear that Gallywix and Denathrius both had. Denathrius still felt like a deserving mythic end boss, but the Gallywix fight is maybe best criticised for having a non-existent dps check and a low cadence of mechanics that gives players time to breathe in a way that Mythic end bosses haven't had since Xavius. That's it for our Race to World First recap series! We hope you've enjoyed!
