Hello YouTube!!! Welcome to the fifteenth episode of Robert’s Recharged Megacollabs! For this episode, we are going to be ranking Four Tet’s There Is Love In You! Anyways, enjoy!!! MY THOUGHTS: One of Kieran Hebden’s most lauded albums in his discography and for very good reason. I think it’s innovative how he mixed his microhouse stylings in with luscious folk elements, and the end result is a listening experience I still will never forget as time progresses. From Love Cry to She Just Likes to Fight, this album is home to some of his most well-textured and produced tracks ever. The sound design is immaculate, the choice of synths and samples that he uses are nothing short of great on average, and this whole thing leaves me with warm and fuzzy feelings every time my ears lie graciously on this 47-minute masterwork of art. It’s one I find to be rewarding with repeated listens and has shaped up to be among Four Tet’s best work, just behind Rounds. Well, I don't like all microhouse in general. It sounds kind of weak, tired. Tracks 5 and 3 sound quite good, happy, but still. When listening to the album for the first time (a month ago) and today, I had the same feeling, as if I had smelled perfume and your brain cortex had dried up. I can't say much more about the album. REVIEW: There Is Love In You has grown on me a ton over the past few years. For a while I thought it was very good but a bit overhyped. It's finally started to click, though. It's such a lush and vibrant listen, plus it has some of his best tracks like This Unfolds and Love Cry. It's not one of my favorites from him, or even one of my favorites of his house albums (I prefer New Energy, Morning/Evening, and Parallel which I think is really underrated) but it's a great album and it deserves its reputation as a modern classic.
