Secondly, this is strictly an AU edit. I’m grateful for the Cünzey fandom for inspiring me to make this happen. On Twitter, they’ve shown me the vision and now my mind is filled with endless ideas for Orhan & Zeynep in a new era (13th century) that I’m unfamiliar with. Even though I have edited Korean historical dramas in the past… Alongside this, please do not compare Mert’s current project in any form to his past projects! His new show isn’t a romance show but will have such events through him to show his character's status as a spouse. Also due to the format they will dramatise events to fill in the episode… It helps generate buzz and I commend the audience for sticking through it (11 years - Ertugrul excluded). Mert’s performance in episode 5… I am speechless. I will always trust his performance and hardwork over everything else. Thirdly, I’d like to state, I am not watching Mert’s new show. I am still disappointed in many of the production’s decisions; the cocky writers and the production not respecting the players (and their audience). Despite this, the production has been chasing after Mert to take on this role. He has entered a new chapter in his life, brought his own spin to Orhan and somewhat closed his old chapter (Cüneyd). From the trailers and the first episode, he has shown new mannerisms, adopted a new accent, worked on his pronunciation, polished his transferable skills (horse riding), beautifully committed to Orhan’s story & learned new skills such as archery (he shared his admiration for animals & how vastly he improved in archery on his socials). Outside of Orhan & Mert, I may be encouraged to edit Orhan/Flavios, Flavios/Fatma & Halime. Time will tell. Lastly, I am aiming not to talk about the show out of, ‘what could’ve been” but I am failing miserably. The people (KG Fandom) I’m following on twitter may or may not see this but I am thankful for how good they are. I fall into a rabbit hole and with their words alone, I climb back out and reflect. I never experienced this before but better now than never. 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗿𝘇𝗲𝘆 Orhan whisks himself away from the camp and makes way to his spot (to be alone with his thoughts). He hears he's not alone and like second nature, his hand reaches towards his sword. He turns towards the direction the noise is coming from and disengages… upon seeing her. He moves his hand away from his sword and watches her from afar. Zeynep, unaware she’s being watched, explores what the location has to offer. Hearing the water from a nearby stream/lake, she makes her way in his direction. While she watches her step, Orhan doesn’t say a word and nor does he move an inch. Zeynep finds her footing, lifts her head up and sees Orhan. She refuses to take her eyes off him and waits for him to speak. He, too, waited for her to speak first… Zeynep, not liking the silence, decided to back away from him slowly until she created enough distance between them for her to run and with assurance that he wouldn’t come after her. Orhan stays in his place, watches what's unraveling in front of him and only moves from where he's standing when she’s no longer in his line of sight. Months go by and the girl from the forest seeks shelter at his camp with her people. Whilst her people share pleasantries, Zeynep stares at the ground... Curiosity seeps in, wondering what her new home has to offer. She raises her eyes and looks around to admire the homely presence until her eyes land on the man from the forest. She recognises him in an instant, realises he has been looking at her the whole time and refuses to look elsewhere even when their gaze meets. Zeynep yields first (takes her eyes off him), in hopes that he'll understand that she’s uncomfortable and that she doesn’t want their encounter to be “remembered”. Orhan continues to stare at her… Feeling his gaze, Zeynep knows what’s coming. Another man who sees her as a conquest that must be achieved at all costs. Whereas Orhan’s friends, family, allies & enemies see his exchange with her as something else entirely.
