My HP Deskjet 1050A MFP started to issue a black cartridge error and refused to print - I had to reset the error. Such a reset of the cartridge error will help to print something, even if the cartridge itself is defective, as in my situation. A similar error occurs when there is an open or a short in the cartridge circuit, which the printer signals with a flashing indicator on its panel. After resetting the error, you can print until the printer parks the carriage - after parking, the error may reappear and you will need to reset again. I had this situation and the printer typed so for a while, until the cartridge refused completely. If you do not want to reset the error, but you need to print it, then, as an option, you can remove the defective cartridge (open the tray on the printer, leave the carriage, unplug the printer, remove the cartridge, close the carriage, turn it on) and try to print the remaining serviceable cartridge . Also, an error can occur when the contacts of the cartridge and the contact plate of the printer carriage are dirty - contamination, ink should not be there! If everything is clean, then the error of the cartridge indicates a malfunction :( Reset the cartridge error in the following order, as in the video (duplicate the text): on the included printer, press the power button and, without releasing it, press the reset button four times, then press the color copy button and after pressing simultaneously release both buttons. Paper in the tray should not be! The printer pondered, poduzhzhit, swears at the lack of paper - click reset, wait until calm down and watch the extinct error indicator. If the error occurs, repeat the procedure, or go after the new cartridge - alas, and ah :( If there is a paper in the tray in the reset, the printer prints a diagnostics service page. This cartridge error reset algorithm will probably work for similar HP models: 1050, 2050 and 2050A, and will help save on calls to the service center;) The video is demonstrative.
