Textiles & Tea with Ahree Lee The Handweavers Guild of America, Inc.'s (HGA) takes place every Tuesday at 4 PM (ET). We've invited some of the most respected fiber artists in the field today to join us for an hour-long conversation where we discuss their artwork and their creative journey. Make a cup of your favorite tea and join us as we talk about fiber, creativity, inspiration, process and so much more. Ahree Lee is a multi-disciplinary artist working in the intersection of craft and technology. Her immersive installations, weavings, and videos utilize patterns and algorithms to challenge narratives surrounding craft, technology, and gendered labor. Her commissions include the Craft Contemporary Museum, the Asian Art Museum, the Cantor Arts Center, the Irish Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, and the Sundance Channel. Her work has been recognized and supported by the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, the Rema Hort Mann Foundation, and Santa Fe Art Institute. It has been covered in the New York Times, Hyperallergic, and Metropolis Magazine. This episode originally aired on September 23, 2025. Music by Sunil Mungur.
