It engages with ideas surrounding loneliness throughout adulthood, co-dependency, pursuing dreams, overcoming loss, and many, many more. This video's aim is to go through the main narrative beats and engage with it's contents on a more personal level as this short manga had a genuine impact on myself during one of the lowest points in my life, so bare with me as I this "video-essay" is more interpersonal and conversational than the usual. Solanin is the most "normal" manga Asano-sensei has created, and for those who are familiar with his more popular titles like Oyasumi Punpun and Dead Dead Demon's DeDeDeDe Destruction, you would know that is quite an interesting claim.
