On July 19, 2023 I stopped in at Rockhill, PA on my vacation to finally visit the legendary East Broad Top Railroad. This railroad has had quite the shaky history in previous years, but is currently on the rise. Steam returned to the railroad in February of 2023, with EBT 2-8-2 #16 being restored to operation. 16 is one of six Mikados owned by the EBT, and amazingly, all six still survive. 16 has not run since its retirement in 1956, and was the first to return to service in the railroad's latest revival. The EBT plans to expand their line and return all six steamers to operation, with work already starting on 15 and 14. The chase route was short, but this allowed for multiple different shots over two runs. 16 put on quite the show as it pulled its six car train. Enjoy!
