I repeat IAC valve testing with an active scan tool after cleaning the IACV. I use the Autel MaxiPRO MP808TS for the active test and a vibration measurement tool, to objectively read the level of vibration at idle with no load and at idle with loads and finally with the transmission engaged etc. This is a follow-up video to the initial video • IAC valve testing with active scan tool: I... where I first performed these 2 tests. The aim of this video is to demonstrate whether there is any improvement in vibrations and the performance of the part after cleaning IAC valve. In this video, I compare the level of vibrations before and after the IAC valve was cleaned. The active test of the IACV is also repeated. The idle air control (IAC) valve is also known as the idle control valve, idle control actuator and the IAC actuator. It is good to note that although an IAC valve may not have failed completely, you may have the IAC valve not working well and not responding optimally to ECU commands. In essence, you may not have a check engine light (CEL) on account of a bad IAC valve, yet the IACV could be operating below optimum. You may even have the odd situation of: rough idle no check engine light. A bad IACV will lead to rough idling, a high or low idle or stalling under load (like when the AC is turned on).
