As my Halloween gift to the world: the best live band to ever visit Earth at the height of their powers. For the impatient, the first song starts at ~4:54. This is a fresh capture/upscale from the original Hi-8 tape. The video has not been re-encoded after initial capture prior to upload. The audio was captured losslessly, remastered, then remuxed with the video as 384kbps aac. The Tesla coil was not allowed by the venue at this show, so I appended the Tesla coil finale from a show in April of the same year, also at LaLuna. Man or Astro-man? at this time were: Birdstuff (Brian Teasley) on drums, Starcrunch (Brian Causey) on lead guitar and vocals, Coco (Robert Del Bueno) on bass, samples and Theremin, Dexter-X (Hayden Thais) on guitar and bass, augmented at this special show by Gregg Foreman (of The Delta 72) on "spooky organ". Sure, they're really gaseous beings from Grid Sector 23-B6-1 in outer space, but I think it is OK to give some recognition to the Human Simulacrums they have been inhabiting for several decades. The sound isn't too bad for a camcorder recording, but don't expect perfection, or audible vocals. Any complaints about my camera work can be forwarded to the anonymous swarm of human projectiles constantly bombarding me. Eventually, I hope to provide a set list, with time offsets for each song, in this description or in the comments. Let this stand as a rebuke to those who complain about people shooting video at live shows. In many ways, I can enjoy this show more now than I could "in the moment", and most people who were there probably can't remember it as well as it is documented here, or at least this may help you to remember this or other shows the band played in the 90s.
