The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Supporting Others video series is designed to empower volunteer and paid staff to provide on the job developmental support to others. The videos can be used in both informal development contexts and formal mentoring, facilitation and educator training programs. The Tell-Ask Continuum from Max Landsberg provides a range of options when choosing how to interact with other people. When we shift from telling to asking, we help to facilitate learning environments with other people to empower them to design solutions for situations, challenges or opportunities they may face. Having practical knowledge of the Tell-Ask Continuum helps you to be intentional about the way you positively contribute to development interactions and choose the most appropriate place on the continuum for the conversation – and relationship – you are in.
