Veľká Javorina & Jelenec | Biele Karpaty SK/CZ - Overlooking 2 Countries

Veľká Javorina is a traditional meeting point on the border between Slovakia and the Czech republic, both countries that have much in common. For example also this hill :-) with views to all directions. There is a TV and radio broadcasting tower on Veľká Javorina and also the well known ole tourist cottage Holubyho chata. It is even possible to drive up here but we preferred to hike in the area. We started in the Czech village Květná, took a walk through the meadows of Biele Karpaty, continued moderately ascending to Veľká Javorina, later moderately descending to Holubyho chata and to the former army lookout tower Jelenec and afterwards returned to Květná. The hike was ~13 km long and the most demanding part of it was the descent form Jelenec. Icy wind blew at the top of the mountain.
