In this episode of The Dirt, we talk with Matt Harris about Trimble Construction One, a full suite of software for managing the construction site from beginning to end, while delivering real-time information at each step. Construction companies can use the software to account for anything from hours on the machines, to labor hours, to materials, to the accounting. Trimble acquired Viewpoint Construction Software in 2018, and now Viewpoint is fully integrated with Trimble. ViewpointOne construction management software has been renamed Trimble Construction One. It uses data from all phases of construction to give teams real-time information, showing project costs and resource allocation. https://www.equipmentworld.com/equipm... “At the end of the day, what we're doing is providing the right information at the right time for the right people,” says Harris, vice president and general manager of Trimble Viewpoint. “So contractors can run a better business for themselves.” Harris describes it as a “connected network of software” to link the various phases of a contractor’s business. For example, Construction One provides solutions for contractors to connect pricing with their estimates. And then it connects those estimates directly with their projects and their budget models. Its project management applications also enable transparency on projects for better communication and collaboration. “We provide tools in Trimble Construction One that give the site managers, the superintendents, the project managers the ability to manage and track their resources – people, equipment, materials – that are actually happening on the job site,” Harris says. And then all that is happening on the job site is connected to the back office to provide a real-time view of the project.
