Far from the center of Bangkok is the Erawan Museum, home to an impressive giant three headed elephant statue. If you're using public transport, Chang Erawan BTS station is about 15 minutes walk from the museum. The area around the station is lively and has many street food stalls and a local feel. You won't see many foreigners in this area. The Erawan elephant is made of copper, not bronze as I stated in the video. Construction began in 1994 and it opened to the public in 2003. It is 44 meters tall (including the base), 12 meters wide and 39 meters long. You can visit the official museum website at: https://www.erawanmuseum.com/#erawanm... Sukhumvit road in that area is very wide and busy with traffic. I didn't see any way to cross the street once you leave the station. It did look like the west side of the street has a lot of shops and businesses and I hope to see that area in the future. Walking along the east side of Sukumvitt in this part of town is interesting. It is a mix of old and new buildings, some with a European style. Small side streets give a glimpse of local life. There are empty lots that are overgrown and some spots are piled with trash. Other areas are lovingly cultivated and look fantastic. ©2022 by Adam Healy.
