The summer of 1979 was chock full of really great songs, everybody was dancing! There was something for everyone, from the orchestral bombast of Donna Summer, to the glam-metal beat of KISS and somewhere in between that was Canadian artist Troiano, who released "We All Need Love" from his 1979 LP "Fret Fever". The song is an uplifting affirmation of the power of love seen from the eyes of an errant musician who seems to realize too late that love is a two way street. Done is a decidedly disco style, the beat heavy song was popular in Canada Born in Italy on January 17, 1946 he became a naturalized citizen of Canada in 1955. He was 15 when he took up the guitar and became an in demand session player, gigging with James Gang and The Guess Who before he established himself as a solo artist. Did you know that he started a band called "Bush" back in 1970? He still had the legal right to the name in Canada, so the "Sixteen Stone" group was known as Bush X in Canada. Bush X wanted to drop the X so as not to confuse their fans worldwide and Troiano graciously withdrew and X came off their albums. He was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame in 1996 along with other notables like Steppenwolf, David Clayton-Thomas (Blood, Sweat & Tears) and Denny Doherty (The Mamas & The Papas). Issued on Capitol Records, his penultimate hit peaked at #39 on the US Disco Chart, but missed the Hot 100 completely. Troiano went on to produce and record in his own studio and had his own independent label. His other credits include playing on albums for Diana Ross, Joe Cocker, Donald Fagen, David Clayton-Thomas, Etta James, Jean-Michel Jarre, Ronnie Hawkins, Three Dog Night, James Cotton and Long John Baldry. Diagnosed with prostate cancer, he continued on until his death on May 25, 2005. This tune was all over Quebec City radio in the late summer and early fall of 1979.
