We’re grateful to spotlight the Tech Exchange Digital Inclusion Program in the third video of our Innovation Fund series, where community, sustainability, and opportunity come together.💻From device refurbishment to multilingual digital training, this program ensures access, equity, and opportunity for all. Behind every laptop is a story of care, community, and the belief that digital access changes lives. This program connects environmentally responsible businesses and individuals with those who receive public benefits by refurbishing and redistributing computer devices. Participants receive 8 hours of free digital skills training in multiple languages, empowering them to fully engage. The program also provides valuable STEM internship opportunities, fostering growth and community empowerment. A visit to the Oakland warehouse revealed the dedication behind preparing laptops for redistribution. It was truly inspiring to witness the dedication and care at every step, ensuring that families in need receive the tools they need to thrive. These behind-the-scenes contributions are the foundation of lasting, positive change for those who need it most. The Innovation Fund, supported by Measure X sales tax proceeds, is making a tangible difference in our community by funding vital services that strengthen safety-net programs, early childhood development, and other county initiatives.
