SF25c: A mid May flight to Compton Abbas Airfield

I was intending to fly to Compton Abbas Airfield for quite some time and I took the opportunity to do some on mid-May Thursday afternoon. The forecast promised sunny skies with a moderate breeze from the North East. Sadly that breeze brough in cloud a long way inland from the North Sea and much of the flight ended up being under the overcast. The cloud started breaking up at Salisbury and the Falke and I were greeted with sunshine as we entered the Compton Abbas area. The approach and landing were in a bit of a stiff crosswind for 08 but at least in this wind direction there are no trees to create turbulance - unlike 09 at Lasham. I visited the cafe and had a very welcome cup of tea and a lovely piece of cake. An excellent and very scenic airfield to visit.
