While deciding on a staycation location in Singapore, we decided on PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay as it is the “newest” hotel in the Marina Bay area. The hotel is in the process to a complete transformation that will see the remaking of this classic into a “garden-in-a-hotel”, the first of its kind in Singapore. With them welcoming their guests for stays from 1 December 2020, and the final phase of works slated to be completed by May 2021. We browsed through other vlogs and considering price of S$372 for 2 Nights we thought we wouldn’t be affected by renovation, but boy were we wrong. (Price was after S$15 promo code) As it was a weekday we managed to have an early check in and was upgraded to a room with the Marina Bay view located at level 8 which included a bath tub! (Not all the rooms comes with one) We really liked the mineral pool and the sparkles on the pool’s floor at night were mesmerising. However we were disappointed by the barricaded pool and construction going on right next to it. This caused the pool area to be dusty and dirty and you can literally see the workers working. The edible garden seen on vlogs and their social media was nowhere to be found. In fact that human footpath to the entrance of the hotel was obstructed and we had to walk on the driveway. A hotel’s facilities are very important to us, considering their renovation timeline and vlogs online we had expected the pool area to be completed. Having said that if the hotel’s facilities are not your priority, this may be your chance to try this hotel at “a lower rate”.
