River Sockeye How To: Part 1 Columbia River

Summer is kicking into full swing now that we are in the last week of June. With this timing of the year comes great opportunity for local anglers to gear up and go chase some great tasting fish. Nothing is better or more rewarding on the dinner plate than a fresh Sockeye Salmon. We are very blessed in Washington to have a couple places to be able to chase and target these fish when they hit the river. This series is going to cover two parts, the Columbia River and the Skagit river for the fishing opportunity. Whether boat or bank bound, sockeye can be caught relatively easy with a minimal amount of gear needed. Location, bait and presentation all will contribute to success.
