Our Dream for Syria. Tanjaret Daghet

Our Dream for Syria by the Syrian rock band, Tanjaret Daghet ("Pressure Pot"), produced in cooperation with THE DREAM@50 and featuring portions of the new acoustic version of "Ya Ramadi" ("Hey Grey"). The three-man band emigrated to Lebanon in 2011 for a more conducive artistic environment and quickly became an underground sensation in Beirut, recently featured in Rolling Stone. Coming out of a largely isolated country, especially from the West, Tanjaret Daghet powerfully combine Arabic melodies with Western heavy metal and grunge (their influences include Nirvana and Pink Floyd) to create an original and poignant sound that demonstrates the widespread impact of globalization particularly on the younger generation. It is also a great example of the dynamic, mind-expanding, soul-enriching benefits that come from cross-cultural pollination, in keeping with our tribute to the "I Have a Dream" speech and the Civil Rights Movement.
