This booster seat is, in my opinion, purely made for profit (MfP). I’ve owned around five different brands of car seats and this (one of the more expensive ones) is simply not worth the price. There are several design flaws and quality issues that should never have passed factory quality control. In my view, it should have gone back to the drawing board. I’ve documented the problems in detail here: • BeSafe Flex FIX 2 - cheap, flimsy, noise &... • BeSafe Flex FIX 2 - squeaking badly I felt forced to modify the seat because an uncomfortable booster makes long journeys stressful for both child and driver. Instead of focusing fully on the road, you end up dealing with complaints and discomfort. We regularly do long trips, and the best seat we’ve owned was the Joie i-Spin 360 (0-4 years). Our children were able to sleep for up to eight hours straight on overnight drives. The build quality and comfort were outstanding. I only wish seats of that level were available for the 4-15 year range. The BeSafe Flex Fix 2 lacks even basic comfort improvements. I had to add padding myself at a cost of around €2 per headrest - something that should not be necessary at this price point. I’m also planning to improve ventilation (waiting on tools), although the cooling memory foam I added has already made a noticeable difference in comfort and presumably overall safety too (from driving and impact absorption perspective - Joie and Cybex have worse paddings and passed all tests). Given these shortcomings, I genuinely struggle to understand how ADAC awarded this seat such a high score. If I were choosing again, I would consider the Britax KIDFIX Pro M (check it out in shop but wasn't convinced without having both next to each other - now I know), the Cybex Solution G2 (where recline is integrated with ISOFIX), or comparable alternatives from Joie or Thule.
