Interval Walking Training is defined as "a free-living training intervention involving alternating fast and slow walking cycles. IWT is efficacious in improving physical fitness and muscle strength, and reducing factors associated with lifestyle-related diseases. " as described by the National Library of Medicine. For this exercise, we use 1 minute intervals of walking in place and alternating other cardio and balance movements to accentuate your workout. This type of exercise works your cardiovascular system, your flexibility and mobility all at once. Remember to only do movements that you are comfortable with and that don't cause any pain or discomfort. Take breaks when you need to and keep your water close by. Have a great workout!
